Escort mission (select group, pm if interested)

Zeff was waiting by with a small tactical squad waiting to assist with the transfer of the only garou they knew of. Such a key player needed to be guarded at all cost. Unfortunately this time he wasn't able to simply use a moon bridge to get to the sept. As more and more caerns dwindled or died, the luxury of hoping from one sept to another also dwindled. This time he was arriving by armored transport the old fashioned way.

Sonny is standing by in full body armor, the symbol of the Black Eagles embroidered in white on a black velcro patch in the middle of his chest. His concession to the heat was the short sleeve black t-shirt he was wearing beneath the armor instead of long sleeve. He was prepared to be a physical barrier between this lone, remaining garou and whatever might threaten him. The leather hammer strap unsnapped and hanging free, and large hands taped up beneath black gloves weighted with heavy lead shot in the knuckles. If anything managed to get close, the giant Uktena intended to make it regret it.

Zeff has a radio, keeping in touch with an emergency helicopter that is keeping it's eyes on any incoming traffic. There is a road, but it is a goat trail of a road where the traffic lines are often obscured by sand and occasionally there will be parts were you aren't sure if it's one lane total or supposed to be one lane in each direction. And there's never enough traffic for the distinction to matter.

Zeff is usually the one in the helicopter, but this is a special case were they have a pilot just for the moot.

"No sign of trouble so far." Zeff confers "None of the good ole boys." He means the local gun enthusiasts who frequent these parts for their target practice.

They were in a car in the middle of nowhere expecting trouble, so fuck it. She's not messing around with her usual small concealable pistol and knife combination, she's got a high powered weapon nearly as big as she is. Her shirt is several sizes too baggy for her which helps conceal the armor underneath. Her clothes and make up are bright and mismatched to distract enemies and give her the appearance of being unhinged.  Her hair is a mess for the same reason. She looks like she's straight out of some post-apocalyptic movie, especially in the desert. So many of those have deserts.

Alan wasn't a hardcore tacticool sort. He had nothing against that type, he just wasn't it. The closest thing he owned to tactical was the piece of tupperware disguised as a handgun that was  his Glock- chosen more for the utilitarian functionality of it more than anything else. But he did at least have spare magazines.

And a pretty hunting rifle that promised some reach out and touch something. The Finns knew their guns, and Alan was quite fond of his .308 Sako. Other people could be badass with the boomsticks. Like most things, he favored well, surgical precision in his tools. That he also had a field surgery kit with him was perhaps more value than whatever lead he could throw downrange. Time would tell.

So he arrived, 75 percent less badass than anyone else present, and feeling vaguely uncool at the moment. "Damnit Jim, I'm a doctor" he muttered to nobody in particular. Just because it seemed right.

They were aware that the daughter of the sept alpha was with them, but she was hiding off the road, serving as a second set of eyes and ears. The teenage uktena drove with them on the way here but served best as a scout.

It's been over thirty minuets waiting in this position before Zeff hears chatter over the radio. "Okay people, this is it, look alive."

Two large black cars approach in formation. The first one looks like a professional bodyguard car with an equally large looking young man inside, the pin on his suit is one of the black eagles and his coat and chest appear to be too big, doing a good job to conceal his body armor from a casual glance, but if a trained eye looks close enough they see it's there.



The second and first car stops, no one exits the second car yet until they check the place out.

The large muscular driver gives a familiar nod to the even more physically impressive Zeff and notes the enormous Black Eagle.

Zeff: "Any trouble getting here?"

The man does not immediately answer in the positive "Negative. The state lines weren't even a problem."

Sandy stiffens up when she hears it's time, deciding it's time for a smoke. It helps her give the appearance of being calm and on watch during what is often a tense moment.

It's made less tense when she sees the driver has a black eagle pin and seems to know Zeff.

His helmeted head would give a curt nod to his fellow Black Eagle, but other than that he'd remain stoic and professional. He was a soldier there to take orders and see a mission through. And that's what he'd do.

They became more relaxed, greeting as if they had done missions before but still keeping their eyes ready. Then the call goes out that the perimeter is secure and the door to the second vehicle opens.  Immediately both sides become on guard as the person they are guarding will soon be in the open.

Flanked by three others out steps



Left-For-Dead pushing seventy, missing an ear, voice horse from a punctured lung and limped by a broken spine yet still appearing confident and dangerous. He has a walking stick that he must lean on for support.

"No trouble this trip. There's definitely a reason for all of this though, had to ditch a car to the feds recently. I don't want this to be the day death catches up to me." Despite his half missing ear, he heard their conversation just fine. "Hello again Zephyr." the Athro is one of the few who fought alongside Zeff's namesake and it never felt right to him to shorten the name.

His takes his time with his steps, slowly moving towards the car. He barely noticed Sandy, Alan and Sonny but does address them.

"Glad you kids could help." he says through labored breaths

Sandy wants to say something to show her bravado about the kids being alright or death having to wait for someone else's watch. Instead she just gives the elder a respectful nod. She'll wait till they are all safe in the car to show her steel.

And Robin makes her appearance, the woman wearing her IBA, her pistol was left on her hip for now, but there was a rifle slung on her shoulder. She approached silently.

LFD makes his way to the Hummers that Zeff and crew arrive in, still no sign of ambushes anyways. Zeff nods, keeping professional "Good to see you, ryah. And it's you who are helping us." as he opens the hummer door for LFD, but not the 3 extra passengers and the large duffel bag they bring with them. Zeff 's team will escort the garou since it's on his watch now, the 3 followers will be in the second vehicle.

LFD gets in safe and sound. It's just him and the PCs now in an 8 passanger Hummer. His rage 7 would be uncomfortable for anyone of low willpower. He knows this and tries to break the tension to the kin once they are all buckled in. He looks around the well armed rag tag group
Left for Dead: "Well, this is the guard crew huh? Hope you guys didn't wait too long."

Alan is more or less literally along for the ride, being fairly certain at this point that there is little need for a Seattle doctor with a fancy deer rifle- unless things really go to shit. At which point, they are probably boned, because he can hit shit, but he can't tactical for crap.

The armored giant was in the front passenger seat, because that's pretty much the only place he'd fit unless they tried strapping him to the roof of the Hummer. He'd taken his helmet off before climbing in, his bulk causing the vehicle to lean just a touch to his side as he settled in.

The tension drops dramatically when they are all belted into the seats, the captains say their farewells and they start to drive off in their opposite directions.

Now it's just a hour long car ride to the sept.

Left For Dead tries breaking the silence "New crew? Or have you guys worked together before?"

Alan shook his head. "Just got here, and pretty sure I don't belong in this group anyway."

He shifted around, and wondered why the fuck he'd brought a bolt action rifle along. Oh yeah. He'd never cared to buy an Evil Black Rifle. Maybe it was time to change that. Still, he moved his medkit so it was within easier reach and glanced around. For the moment he couldn't decide if the Garou was making him more uncomfortable, or being the really out of place not tactical guy was worse. He finally decided he'd just hope for nothing that required him to shoot or patch people up.

"I'm one of the new folks, just arrived the other day. This is my first real mission for the sept." Doesn't bother trying to turn his body and talk in his bulky armor, instead just turning his head to the side some.

LFD nods and snorts "Not a bad crew." he gives an approving nod. After a pause

"You know I was fifteen when I was in my first fire fight. Still a kin back then, with a cub the den mother and some kin: defending a old barn on the homestead against a small team of fomori. There was some bad shit happening back then in the mortal world and the wyrm used it as a cover to make their move. Big fucking war. We weren't supposed to be on the front lines, but the garou can't be everywhere. They can only kill so much wyrm at a time. That cub, she was a few months younger than I was which at that age is like a whole different age group.

I managed to bag one though, shot him right between the forehead. Then the cub and den-mother shifted and growled. Two of the six other adults got shots in. It was such a good first volley that they backed off to re-group. The den mother tagged one as they tried to flee." he looks around the group again

"We forget sometimes how good the B squad is."

There's chatter on Zeff's radio from the team that delivered the garou to them. They had been driving ten minuets in the opposite direction, there's muffled sounds of some kind of struggle that doesn't come through.

Zeff shakes his head "They are twenty minuets away, we can't help them." besides, the mission was to deliver and protect the garou, not the other drivers. Their two Hummers were set to continue on.

Left for Dead snorts amused as he shifts in his seat to put pressure off of his crooked back "Here I thought all this guard duty wasn't necessary". he looks out the window towards the other group "That could have just as easily been us. Good thing they picked wrong." they being the unidentified assailants attacking the security guard cars traveling the opposite direction.

The incident happened a little too close to Zeff's territory, so his head shakes in frustration that there was now nothing they could do. Still he guns it forward, keeping an eye out for anything hostile closer to them and checking in with the radio look-out.

"Or they picked right" Alan said dryly while shifting to reach his tupperware pistol a bit easier. "As we are now reduced by half. Anyone else here any good at emergency first aid- sucking chest wounds, that sort of fun shit? Tell me we have some Quick Clot?"
